Why the Middle East
We have studied the demographics and statistics of cancer incidents throughout the Middle-East. These demographics reveal an increasing trend in the number of reported cases of cancer. Due to the fact that there are no proton therapy centers currently in the Middle East, these patients have to look for treatment in foreign countries. However, because of factors including travel expenses, visa requirements, language difficulties, cultural differences, etc., many of these patients are unable to pursue and acquire the necessary treatment.
We have evaluated the financial viability of the project and the patient preferences of receiving treatment in local regional centers as opposed to traditional overseas health treatment, and the results of these evaluations are clear: the Middle East is ready for an advanced proton therapy development program. In the following sections, you will learn how we came to this conclusion.
